Chandigarh Education Dept. Cancelled 584 TGT Selection List

The School Education Department of Chandigarh Administration has issued Cancellation Order regarding cancellation of TGT Selection List of 584 TGT Teachers selected based upon the written test conducted in 2015 due to Court Case. Fresh written test will be held for all the applicants, who had applied for the post of TGT advertised in October/November 2014. Eligibility conditions and other requirements will remain unchanged.

Chandigarh Edu. Department Order regarding Eligibility for the post of TGT

Chandigarh Education Department on 04.11.2015 uploaded an order regarding the eligibility for the post of TGT (Fine Arts). The eligibility of the candidates who have applied for the post of TGT Fine Arts with BA (Fine Arts) followed by MA (Fine Arts)/MA Drawing & Painting as equivalent qualification of BFA Degree, will be decided keeping in view the recommendations of the competent authority.

Thus these candidates were given an opportunity to prove their eligibility for the post of TGT (Fine Arts). The revised Merit List will be issued after following due procedure and recommendation of the Department Recruitment Committee.

The department on 21.09.2015 issued an Order dated 16.09.2015 regarding English as an Elective subject in B.A. as qualification for the post of TGT English advertised by the Dept. On the basis of the recommendations of the Committee formed for this issue, the Department has taken the decision that the candidates who have passed English as an Elective subject or Honours of English Literature or Additional / Optional paper of English by opting or choosing are to be considered eligible for the post of TGT (English). English as Compulsory subject will not be considered equivalent of Elective English for the post of TGT English. Here is the order.

Revised Dates of Medical Examination of Selected Candidates (TGT) 

Medical Examination for the post of TGT was conducted from 06.08.2015 to 10.08.2015 at different Govt. Hospitals in Chandigarh. The department has informed telephonically to all selected candidates about the revised date and venue.

Chandigarh TGT Revised Result 2014-15

The Result of Written Test for the post of Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) was declared on 23 April 2015. The Revised Result was uploaded on 26.05.2015.

The Department had taken this decision (revised result) due to errors in the Answer keys. There were some errors in the answer keys of written test for the post of TGT and it was brought to the notice of the Administration. To ensure justice to all the candidates, the Administration after getting the answer keys verified by experts, has prepared the final answer keys which have been uploaded on the website of the Education Department.

Mode of Selection/Selection Procedure

• Candidates will be selected on the basis of Merit List.
• Merit List will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in two tests (objective type) of 100 marks each.
• Qualifying marks will be 40% for SC category candidates and 45% for all other candidates.
• No interview will be conducted.
• There will be no negative marking.
